Workshop Lifelines

Cara Davies will develop a workshop format of her project “Life Lines.” The aim of the project is to explore the city through the participants’ palms (and the lines on them). By creating prints of their palms, participants—“local experts”—will produce their own map of the city of Trenčín.

The project seeks to enable people to experience the city through a deeply personal and authentic perspective, perceiving the connection between the city and their own lives quite literally “in the palm of their hand.” The palm prints, city walks, and discoveries made by workshop participants will be used to create artworks.

Participants will have the opportunity to build new relationships across generations, gain a deeper understanding of the place where they live, and develop a more personal connection to Trenčín. The workshop will be led by invited artist Cara Davies, in collaboration with Mads Floor Andersen from the Generations Together curatorial team.
