The Trenčín Literary Festival revives the celebration of the written word, connecting contemporary literature with traditional values. A program full of discussions, readings, and workshops offers opportunities to meet Slovak and international authors. This festival nurtures a relationship with literature, inspires new generations of readers, and brings a rich literary scene to Trenčín. The project offers a unique blend of literary events, interactive experiences, and traditional formats connected to literature for readers of all generations. It draws on the region’s rich literary tradition and builds on significant events from the past, thereby reviving interest in literature and creative writing.
Events will be tied to a thematic program line and its ambassador – a prominent figure connected to literature. The selection of topics reflects a broad associative potential that evokes memories, encourages creativity, and brings inspirational experiences. The goal is not only to deepen the relationship with literature but also to foster open-mindedness, critical thinking, and the ability to discuss literary works.
The event will feature presentations of contemporary literature, illustrations, translations, book design, and sustainable book production, complemented by accompanying programs focused on multi-genre content. Both domestic and international authors, publishers, and literary experts will take part in the program.
