Bunky are community and cultural spaces that provide a home for active individuals, communities, civic associations, emerging artists, and young people looking for a place to create, learn, and connect.
They represent a living ecosystem in which communities, initiatives, and creators function like microorganisms—coming together, collaborating, creating, and developing new ideas.
Programme Highlights
Community Gatherings
Discussion groups, book and film clubs, screenings, board game evenings, a meeting place for young people, volunteer activities, and community dinners.
Creativity and the Arts
Exhibitions, DJ workshops, creative and movement-based workshops, hands-on art sessions, music concerts, and experimental performances. All forms of cultural expression are welcome.
Education and Ecology
Workshops for young people, discussions, lectures, swap events, and activities focused on sustainability and the environment.
From June onwards, Bunky welcomes visitors to its new location – Looka, where it will continue to provide space for these activities as well as informal gatherings. The aim of the move to this area between the bridges is to activate this strategic location near the Váh River and the railway bridge. In connection with future developments, the site will gradually become a vibrant cultural and community hub through projects such as Fiesta Bridge, Bunky on the Bridge, and the revitalisation of the Váh riverbank area.

About Bunky
The multifunctional containers were created through the initiative of the civic association Naše Zálesíčko as part of the METAMORFÓZA project. The project demonstrated that even small interventions in the form of mobile spaces can bring culture and strong communities into public spaces through a variety of flexible configurations.

The Bunky concept, managed by the Creative Institute Trenčín (KIT), was created in response to the lack of infrastructure for informal communities—young people, enthusiasts of specific subcultures, active volunteers, environmental initiatives, creators, families with children, and newcomers to the city. The multifunctional space, available free of charge and supported by the open and collaborative approach of the KIT team, has created the conditions for a dynamic community ecosystem to emerge.
