Dance audition: Simone Sandroni: As the Fairy Sings

European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 announces an open call for professional dancers (regardless of gender) for the performance:

Simone Sandroni: As the Fairy Sings

Audition date: March 8, 2025, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Audition venue: Plejs for Movement

Dolný Šianec 1, 911 48 Trenčín

Keramoprojekt Trenčín, 2nd floor

Premiere: October 1, 2026

Rehearsal period: August – September 2026

(Monday – Friday and Saturday mornings)Accommodation during the rehearsal period will be provided for dancers coming from outside Trenčín.

The choreographer is looking for performers for four roles. Although these are female characters, they may be performed by a person of any gender identity.

Optional:

If, in addition to dance techniques (primarily contemporary dance), you also sing, we kindly ask audition participants to prepare one song that they will perform on site (any style, any type of song).

 

About Simone Sandroni

Simone Sandroni is a choreographer and director. In 1987, he co-founded Ultima Vez Company in Brussels, where he collaborated until 1992. In 1993, he founded his own group Ernesto in Brussels. In 1996, together with Lenka Flory, he founded the international dance company Déjà Donné in Prague, which has been regularly presented in Europe, North America, and Asia.In addition to his own productions, he has created numerous works for festivals, independent artists, and schools in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Slovenia (Bayerisches Staatsballett Munich, National Theatre Prague, Tanztheater Bielefeld, Festival de Beweeging Antwerp, Theater Varia Brussels, Sosta Palmizi Italy, Duncan Centre Conservatory Prague, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Four Chambers Dance Projects Toronto, Luzerntanz at Luzernertheater, En-Knap Group Ljubljana, Oper Frankfurt, Birmingham Opera Company).From 2015 to 2022, he served as principal choreographer and artistic director of Bielefeld Theatre Dance Company in Germany.
