We Are Looking for Food and Beverage Vendors for the Opening Weekend Trenčín 2026
On 14 February 2026, Trenčín will host the Opening Weekend of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026, launching a year full of culture and art. The weekend will feature a rich, full-day outdoor programme not only on Mierové Square, but also at other locations in the city centre. Alongside culture, a large number of visitors will also be looking for food and hot drinks.
If you are a catering provider offering an interesting selection of food and beverages, we are looking for you!
Event Information
The main programme will take place on Mierové Square on Saturday, 14 February 2026, from 12:00 to 23:00.
The GASTRO ZONE will be located on the adjacent Palackého Street, which will be closed to traffic. A stage with an accompanying cultural programme will also be part of the gastro zone, running from 12:30 to 23:00.
We plan to occupy approximately 25 sales spots exclusively for gastronomic offerings (food and beverages).
Sales hours: 10:00 – 24:00
What Are the Conditions?

Your assortment must be high-quality and attractively presented – we are looking for flavours from all over the world; traditional food and drinks are also welcome.

Vendors must ensure the option of cashless payment, either by payment card or QR code.

Mobile vendors (food trucks) will be given preference.

We offer closed wooden stalls for rent, size 2.5 × 2.5 m.

Sales units will have access to electricity, but not to water or sewage.

The maximum electricity consumption per sales unit/stall is 10 kW.

Exclusive use of returnable cups is mandatory.

Preparation of food and drinks using gas-powered equipment is an advantage.

All required permits and documents proving compliance with the requirements of the Regional Public Health Authority, Financial Administration, Tax Office and other relevant institutions are mandatory.

Detailed sales conditions are defined in the Market Regulations – Municipal Ordinance (VZN) No. 25/2025.
Fees
The price applies to one lockable wooden stall (2.5 × 2.5 m) or a sales space up to 3 × 3 m. Exceeding these dimensions in any direction counts as an additional sales space.

Application and Selection Process

Applications are submitted via the website trencin.sk:

upload (electronically) all required documents and photographs,

submit the electronic application form.

Application deadline: 14 January 2026.

Only applicants with complete documentation who meet the formal criteria will proceed to the selection process.

The selection committee will evaluate applications based on:

diversity and attractiveness of the assortment,
-
aesthetic presentation of the stall, food and beverages.

Based on the committee’s decision, selected applicants will receive an Acceptance Letter with all necessary information, followed by the conclusion of a contract.

If selected, you will be informed about all details (sales preparation, placement, connection to utilities, participation in the returnable cup system, etc.).

The market administrator reserves the right to change sales hours in case of adverse weather conditions.
