Do you have a group of neighbors on your street, in your apartment block, or in your neighborhood who would like to organize something together? A picnic, neighborhood gathering, outdoor movie night, concert, children’s workshop, or anything else that brings people together?
During the Week of Lively Neighborhoods (10–15 September 2026), we’re looking for neighborhoods that want to create their own community event. You don’t need experience organizing large events – all you need is an idea, enthusiasm, and a few people willing to make it happen with you.
You won’t have to do it alone. We’ll be happy to support you with:
- poster design and event promotion,
- creating a social media event,
- consultations while planning your programme,
- production support,
- covering programme-related costs,
- lending furniture, outdoor games, fire pit equipment, and other event essentials.
As the local organizing team, we ask you to help with:
- planning a programme that makes sense for your neighborhood,
- spreading the word among your neighbors,
- distributing posters in your area,
- forming a small organizing team to coordinate the event on site.
Requirements
- a local team of at least three people,
- your neighborhood must be located in one of Trenčín’s city districts,
- the event must be non-political and must not promote the views or programme of any political party, movement, or candidate.
If you have an idea and would like to bring your neighborhood to life, let us know by 31 July 2026 at lenka.abaffyova@trencin2026.eu.
The Week of Lively Neighborhoods is made up of many small gatherings that together create a mosaic of everyday community life across the city. We look forward to seeing the piece of that mosaic created in your neighborhood!
