Trenčín 2026 in collaboration with For Maat announces an open call for submission of exhibition projects in the field of international contemporary art.
We are seeking current exhibition projects presenting contemporary art, with an emphasis on new artistic approaches and engaged themes such as the relationship to public space, nature and the environment, and the impact of new technologies on the contemporary world.
We give priority to thematic and group exhibitions. Participation of European artists is a requirement. Preference will be given to high-quality curatorial projects that are also financially and logistically feasible.
Exhibition dates (choose one):
1. 4 September – 18 October 2026
2. 30 October – 6 December 2026
Application requirements:
Applicants must apply via an online form, including:
– a brief description of the exhibition project (max. 1–2 pages)
– portfolio and CVs of participating artists
– exhibition visualisation / examples of artworks

For Maat Gallery will provide selected projects with:
– €1500 production budget for the exhibition
– accommodation during exhibition installation
– production materials and technical support
– installation and deinstallation of the exhibition
– exhibition promotion and PR, including promotional materials
– gallery supervision during the exhibition period
– organisation of the opening event and a guided tour of the exhibition
Selection criteria:
– quality and relevance of the project
– curatorial level and conceptual clarity
– feasibility within the gallery space
– low financial and production demands
– international reach
Applications will be evaluated by an expert jury consisting of members of the Trenčín 2026 team, For Maat, and an external juror.
Selected projects will be presented at For Maat Gallery in Trenčín.
