Thanks to the collaboration of Slovak and Norwegian street artists, Východná Elementary School will be adorned with large mural paintings. The artists will present their work on Friday, March 28, 2025, during a morning discussion for upper-grade students.
In the afternoon, for both students and the general public, the City of Trenčín, in cooperation with the Creative Institute, has prepared a cultural program at the school and in its surroundings.
Program for the Public
13:00 – 14:00: Discussion – “ReShape the City: Streets for Children”
The first in a series of discussion events as part of the “Transformed City” project within Trenčín 2026. The discussion will focus on creating more pleasant and, above all, traffic-safe public spaces around schools.

14:00 – 15:00: Braňo Jobus – Jobusovky
A literary-musical program featuring the books of Braňo Jobus. The author shares and sings about his stories, engaging children of all ages—from preschoolers to near-adult high school students.
15:00 – 16:00: Miro Jilo
A unique interactive concert, where songs are intertwined with games. Through a playful mix of dance, sports, drama, and music activities, Miro Jilo draws in the audience within seconds—including passersby. The program emphasizes creativity, emotional expression, social skills, and community building.
16:00 – 17:00: Charity Concert
A benefit concert organized for 9-year-old Jakubko, who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The program will feature performances by students of Východná Elementary School and a concert by singer Martina Comisso.

The public program within the event A School Transformed is an activity of the Transformed City project, which is part of Trenčín 2026. Trenčín 2026 is financially supported by the City of Trenčín, the Trenčín Self-Governing Region, and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The European Union is a partner of the project. The event is co-financed by EEA and Norway Grants.
