In the building of the regional library on Hasičská Street, only the children’s department is currently located. This building is also part of the city’s heritage reserve. As part of the reconstruction, the existing building will be renovated, structurally reinforced, and complemented by a new extension that will expand the space available to the public.
Overall, it can be said that apart from the perimeter structures of the original building, everything will be new. Functionally, the library will be divided across several floors, three of which will be accessible to the public. It will house the children’s department, a fiction section, and a non-fiction section. Additionally, there will be spaces for events, community gatherings, workshops, and relaxation.
