“Stop making things up!” It’s a phrase many of us heard countless times as children. On the street, in the car, at the playground… But what happens when someone tells us the exact opposite?
For three days, Trenčín will come alive with a festival of games, toys, stories and everything that awakens and encourages playfulness at any age.
Vymýšľaj is an event for the whole family – from children and parents to grandparents. Simply for everyone who knows that playfulness doesn’t end with childhood and that we can be creative at any age.
During the festival, you can look forward to creative workshops led by professionals, legendary characters Kuko, Raťafák plachta and Drobček, meetings with creative people, family board games from a new gamebook about Trenčín, an afternoon of old and unusual board games, as well as the opening of the exhibition To bude hračka, where illustrators and a product designer will present a collection of original wooden toys inspired by traditional toys.
You can choose one workshop or several, stop by to play games or meet your favourite characters, or spend all three days with us. Thanks to Trenčín 2026 European Capital of Culture, admission to the event is free.
