How can cultural organisations create events, spaces and communication that are accessible to the widest possible range of visitors?
At the educational event Culture for Everyone, we will explore inclusion, diversity and accessibility in culture, with a particular focus on practical approaches. We will discuss how to recognise the different needs of visitors, where barriers may arise within cultural organisations, and what concrete steps can be taken to gradually remove them.
An introduction to the topic will be given by Elena Gallo Kriglerová from the Center for the Research of Ethnicity and Culture (CVEK). She will discuss why it is important to consider diversity and inclusion from the very beginning when planning cultural activities and how to approach these topics proactively.
Jozef Balužinský from LITTERRA, n.o./CULTURA SINE CLAUSTRA, s.r.o. will share experience with accessibility in cultural institutions and lead a practical workshop focused on removing barriers to information.
The event will also include a collaborative workshop in the World Café format, giving participants an opportunity to share experiences, identify barriers within their own organisations and look for concrete solutions they can put into practice.
The aim is for everyone to leave the event not only with new ideas and contacts, but also with one concrete step they can take within their organisation to help make culture more accessible.
