The Trenčín 2026 project and KKC Hviezda believe that the female perspective brings essential depth and complexity to art. That is why we create a space where ideas, inspiring stories, and the work of exceptional women come together. In doing so, we affirm that women’s creative work has a distinctive and fundamental impact on contemporary culture and society. The programme includes inspiring lectures, in-depth discussions, concerts, theatre performances, and creative workshops.

An evening of contemporary performance at the intersection of dance, sound, and visual art. IHOPEIWILL connects physical performance, sound design, and visual installation – three layers that function both independently and together, opening questions about what we carry from the past and what we can (or cannot) say with certainty about the future. The programme also includes an exhibition before the performance and a discussion with the authors afterwards.
Venue: ODA – Universal Hall (small hall)
Date: 5 March 2026
Evening Programme
6:30 PM Exhibition opening
7:00 PM Start of the performance IHOPEIWILL
7:45 PM Discussion with the authors: When Does the Future Begin?
Admission to the theatre performance is free of charge. However, due to limited capacity, prior registration is required.
About the Performance
IHOPEIWILL touches on our collective future against the backdrop of current political tensions and the deepening climate crisis. It expresses a sense of anticipation and hope despite globally prevailing feelings of fear and profound uncertainty.
The work combines physical performance, sound design, and visual installation. Each of these media functions independently alongside the others, while also working in synergy to create an organic whole. The piece was inspired by conversations focusing on personal family environments and intergenerational relationships.
What is our vision of the future – not only for ourselves, but also for the generations that come after us? What kind of world do we wish for them, and what can or are we willing to do to fulfil those wishes? IHOPEIWILL becomes an artistic reflection on the current trajectory of society and our responsibility towards future generations.
The work and its creators received the Dosky Theatre Award 2024 for an Outstanding Achievement in Dance. The piece was also presented at the prestigious Aerowaves 2025 platform.
Discussion: When Does the Future Begin?
After the performance, we invite you to join a discussion. We will explore how our thinking about society has evolved from the 1990s to today – in the context of the climate and refugee crises, political tensions, questions of human rights, and the norms that shape what “tomorrow” will look like.
Is the future something distant, or does it begin right now?
