The Centre of Architecture Trenčín invites you to Architecture Days, which will introduce remarkable buildings of our region and help us understand why even 20th-century architecture is worth preserving. Stop by the Cultural Information Centre for an exhibition, join a guided walk through the Children’s Town with an art historian, or learn more about modern buildings in lectures by architectural theorists.
Heritage Protection and Modern Architecture of the Trenčín Region: Current State and Challenges
An exhibition presenting ten architectural topics from the region—from housing estates, administrative and industrial buildings to department stores—offering a new perspective on the values of modern architecture.
Opening: October 2, 2025 at 5:00 PM, Cultural Information Centre, Trenčín
Free entry during the opening hours of the Centre: daily 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Children’s Town with Art Historian Lucia Pastierová

A guided tour of a unique complex that has been declared a National Cultural Monument. Free entry, but capacity is limited. More information and registration available here.
Architecture Evening: On the Heritage Protection of 20th-Century Buildings
When: October 4, 2025, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
Where: Club at KKC Hviezda
A series of lectures combined with a discussion on perspectives of preserving modern buildings in the Trenčín region and their place in our cities. Free entry. More about the lectures can be found here.
The events present themes that will also be included in a forthcoming volume on the heritage care of modern architecture in the Trenčín region, to be published in 2026. This year’s Architecture Days organized by the Centre of Architecture Trenčín focus on those buildings we visit—or pass by daily—without realizing their architectural value.
Architecture Days in Trenčín are part of the 15th edition of the Czech festival Den architektury, taking place in many cities across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
