Demolition Doesn’t End It – Workshop with the Kolemhlíny Collective

The demolition of the Monolity premien object does not represent its end, but rather another phase of its existence. The clay monolith, originally designed as temporary and subject to natural erosion, will now be demolished and simultaneously returned to the creative process. The material obtained becomes the input for a follow-up workshop focused on the rammed earth technique, where it will be reprocessed and transformed into new structures.

The act of demolition is therefore not destruction, but transformation – an open process that highlights the cyclical nature of materials, the sharing of knowledge, and the active involvement of the community. Through this step, the project further develops its original intention: to explore more sustainable approaches to architecture not only in its final form, but also in the building’s entire lifecycle.

We invite the general public to take part in this process of transforming the clay pillar. Under the guidance of the Kolemhlíny collective, the object will be demonstratively dismantled, and the material will then be reused in a workshop focused on rammed earth in architecture. Participants will have the opportunity to create and take home a small object made from part of the clay pillar. You can join the demolition itself, the workshop, or both parts of the process.
