The project Rooted in Trenčín presents a solo exhibition by one of our most renowned Slovak authors, Denisa Lehocká, who will create an installation responding to a specific industrial space.
The native of Trenčín, Denisa Lehocká, creates spatial installations that arise as a reaction to a given place, and which she creates from common and natural materials (plaster, textiles, stones, twine, beads). Her works function as open structures based on layering and sedimentation, metaphorically referring to time and memory.
The process of creation, carried out in a slow, focused rhythm, is as important to Lehocká as the resulting object: fine, subtle wholes offer the viewer an immersive experience based on movement, sensory perception and personal interpretation.
Her works bring an intimate, yet universal dialogue between space, material and viewer.
