As part of the accompanying programme to the exhibition Heritage Protection and Modern Architecture of the Trenčín Region: Current State and Challenges, organised by the Centre for Architecture Trenčín, we invite you to a lecture titled Architecture and Heritage Values of Department Stores (Not Only) in the Trenčín Region. The lecture will be delivered by Mgr. Karolína Králiková, an architectural historian focusing primarily on 19th- and 20th-century architecture in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Architecture of the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, where her research focuses on department stores of socialist (Czecho-)Slovakia. A study under the same title as the lecture will be one of the contributions to the upcoming publication by the Centre for Architecture Trenčín.
The lecture will take place at the M. A. Bazovský Gallery in Trenčín on 9 May 2026 at 15:00.
