This summer, Trenčín will once again become a place of exceptional literary encounters and the discovery of new stories. Thanks to the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 project, our city will take part for the second time in the prestigious Month of Author’s Reading festival, the largest literary event of its kind in Central Europe.
This year’s edition will offer a unique insight into Greenland and its contemporary literature, introducing Greenlandic authors such as Juaaka Lyberth, Katti Frederiksen, Hivshu, Laila Andrés, Mie Rosendahl, Sørine Steenholdt, Iben Mondrup, Lotte Maré Christensen, Aqqaluk Lynge, Pauline Kleinschmidt Knudsen, and Inger Platou. In their work, they explore themes of identity, traditions, family relationships, and life in Arctic conditions. Visitors can look forward to inspiring encounters and stories that bring a fresh perspective on present-day Greenland.
