The exhibition Pilgrimage Attraction by artists Peter Barényi and Pavol Hovanec is a subjective critical reflection on certain aspects of the Christian Church, particularly its commercialization and mass communication through kitsch. The artists highlight parallels between the strategies of the Church and the practices of political, business, and pop-cultural spheres, while maintaining the position of observers and working primarily with personal experience. Manipulated ready-made objects and artworks using religious motifs are combined into an installation complemented by a sound track and site-specific architecture created directly for the For maat gallery space, which thus becomes an integral part of the artwork.
