Join a public discussion with Anna Gesualdi and Giovanni Trono, founders of Altofest, and discover how this award-winning project transforms our everyday spaces into places of encounters and extraordinary experiences.
You are invited to a conversation dedicated to Altofest — a unique and acclaimed festival format that unites art with everyday life through the principles of gift and hospitality.
Altofest was founded in Naples in 2011 and is a festival that takes place inside private homes. Over two weeks, citizens host international artists in their houses, turning their private spaces into sites of creation and dialogue. These homes then open to the public, who move from house to house, discovering art in the most unexpected — yet deeply familiar — corners of their city.
At the heart of Altofest lies the act of giving — an action that resists a culture of consumption and invites us to build relationships based on reciprocity and trust. By opening one’s home to an artist, we open our doors not only to art itself but also to a new form of coexistence. Altofest transforms the city into a living network of encounters, where differences become sources of creativity and understanding.
In 2026, Altofest will be part of the official programme of Trenčín – European Capital of Culture, and through each open door and every meeting, it will take on the shape of the wishes, hopes, and stories of its people.
