Stretching strings

Immerse yourself in music that transcends genres, geography, and expectations.

Experience a one-of-a-kind concert evening where two virtuoso musicians come together – Israeli multi-instrumentalist Adam Ben Ezra and Slovak cimbalom master Ľubomír Gašpar. Two remarkable personalities, two extraordinary instruments, and one unrepeatable musical dialogue blending jazz with folklore, funk, and Mediterranean vibes.

When and where?

Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Refectory of the Piarist Grammar School in Trenčín

This concert is part of the World Music Fusion series, which brings together musicians from around the world in unconventional – and all the more exciting – combinations.

Adam Ben Ezra is one of the most prominent figures of the modern double bass. His performances have garnered millions of views, and he has played on prestigious stages worldwide. Slovak audiences know him from festivals like Colours of Ostrava, Jazzové dni, and Viva Musica!. His unique style fuses jazz, funk, world music, and Latin rhythms.

Ľubomír Gašpar, winner of the Radio_Head Awards for his debut album Point of View, is considered one of today’s most inspiring cimbalom players. He brings a fresh perspective to the cimbalom as a solo instrument – full of color, contrast, and improvisational freedom.

The concert will feature original compositions by both artists, created specifically for this international project. Their fusion of cimbalom and double bass guarantees an intense and unforgettable experience for anyone eager to discover new musical horizons.

Admission is free.

The capacity of the event is limited. Once it is reached, the organizers reserve the right to close the entrance. Thank you for your understanding.

The World Music Fusion project is financially supported by the City of Trenčín, the Trenčín Self-Governing Region, and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The project partner is the European Union.

Please note: Photo and video recordings will be made during the event and may be published afterward.
