Experience summer days that will change the way you see art. Whether you’re a student, a senior, an artist, or simply curious, join us and immerse yourself in one of four art forms – photography, film, performance, or storytelling. Across five workshops led by professionals from Slovakia and abroad, you’ll have the opportunity to develop new skills, transform your own ideas into artistic projects, meet inspiring people, and create summer memories that will stay with you long after the season ends.
WORKSHOPS TO LOOK FORWARD TO:
Film Workshop: How a Film Is Made
Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of a film? In the Film Workshop, you’ll experience the entire process of creating a short film – from the first ideas and scriptwriting to filming and final editing. Together, we’ll develop original stories, work as a professional film crew under the guidance of experienced filmmakers, and premiere our finished short films to an audience.
Led by: filmmaker Lucie Kašová and her team (SK)
Photography Workshop: Shoot. Print. Zine.
Looking for new ways to capture moments and preserve memories through photography? In this workshop, we’ll search for extraordinary moments hidden within everyday life. You’ll experiment in a darkroom, explore snapshot photography focused on spontaneous everyday scenes, work with flash, light, atmosphere, and composition, and create your own photographic zine to take home.
Led by: artists and photographers Gabriela Zigová, Lucia Kotvanová, and Inga Ivanová (UK/SK, SK, DE)
Performance Workshop: A Space for Self-Care
How can we listen to our bodies? How do our stories, memories, and relationships live within them? Through gentle movement exercises, breathwork, voice, and mindful attention, we’ll explore our relationship with our bodies. Expect a safe and welcoming environment for slowing down, restoring yourself, discovering new approaches to self-care, and connecting across generations.
Led by: Mariella Greil and Viktor Fuček (AT, SK)
Performance Workshop: AI Adventure in Trenčín
What can happen when old family photographs meet artificial intelligence? This workshop brings younger and older generations together to explore memories through digital tools. We’ll combine the creativity of young people with the valuable stories of older generations, learning how to work with AI to create texts, animate old photographs, and imagine the future of Trenčín.
Led by: Anikó Mazán and Rokko Juhász (HU, SK)
Storytelling Workshop: In the Beginning Was the Voice
Would you like to tell stories more confidently and improve your voice and stage presence? In this storytelling workshop, we’ll discover the power of storytelling through traditional tales as well as personal stories, learning how to share them naturally and authentically. We’ll work with voice, gesture, eye contact, and audience connection through individual, paired, and group exercises in a supportive environment. At the end of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to perform a chosen story in front of an audience.
Led by: Martina Jánošíková and Dominika Belanská (SK, SK)
