The Green Line programme offers pupils an opportunity to discover one of the oldest artistic techniques while using the creative process to reflect on the relationship between humans and nature. It connects traditional craft techniques with contemporary environmental themes and provides a space for shared creative exploration.
During the two-day workshop, pupils from Kubranská Primary School will learn about the traditional technique of fresco painting under the guidance of the Czech art collective Comunite Fresca. The workshop will offer the children a unique opportunity to experience the entire process of creating a mural – from the initial design, working with materials and obtaining natural pigments from clay, to the actual creation of the fresco on the school premises. The programme will also include a lecture focusing on environmental issues and the relationship between humans and nature.
The workshop will be led by members of the Czech art collective Comunite Fresca – Marie Štindlová, Dana Balážová and Markéta Filipová – whose long-term artistic practice focuses on connecting art, traditional techniques and community education.
