This educational program consists of five two-day modules (Thursday–Friday) designed to help you strengthen your individual skills and competencies in cultural management. The course will guide you through topics such as strategic planning, branding, audience development, teamwork, and more. It is one of the great opportunities already offered as part of European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026.
We have successfully completed five courses already, and only two semesters remain to close the entire training program. Thanks to these sessions, we have welcomed several international lecturers to Trenčín, including UK cultural industries expert David Parrish, Agata Etmanowicz (director of the Polish Impact Foundation), and Adam Pajgrt with Petr Peřinka from Prague’s IPR institute.
The program is intended for cultural professionals (individuals) who want to develop new skills and expand their networks. Applicants from outside the Trenčín region are also welcome.
Cultural professionals from other EU countries can also apply, making the course a platform for cross-border exchange, new partnerships, and mutual enrichment. This European dimension further increases its value.

The Runway | Culture Professionals course takes place in person in Trenčín and has a capacity of 30 participants.
Since the program also features international experts, English proficiency is required.
The course is structured into five two-day modules:
A similar course would normally cost around €2,000. Thanks to the Trenčín 2026 project, Runway | Culture Professionals is completely free of charge, with the full fee covered through a scholarship. Participants cover their own travel, meals, and possible accommodation.
