trenČIN is a large-scale participatory project about people and for people. It is a celebration of humanity and kindness in our everyday lives.
Awards are usually given for outstanding achievements in areas such as sports, culture, or science. The trenČIN project turns this perspective upside down—instead of exceptional performance, it celebrates exceptional humanity in daily life, whether it’s caring for neighbors, looking after public space, offering selfless help, showing patience, kindness, or a warm smile. In doing so, it challenges the idea that recognition belongs only to elites.
The project is open to all age, social, cultural, and other groups without distinction. It is based on the principle of chain nominations: each award recipient nominates someone else, gradually creating a living network of connected people.
The culmination of the project is a ceremonial invitation for the awardees to the castle, where they receive an award from the mayor for their contribution to the city. Through this final ceremony, we pay tribute to those who, through their behavior and human approach, shape the true character of the city. The invitation itself becomes a public gesture of recognition for those who often remain unseen.
