Every now and then, we all meet someone who can make our day a little better.
Sometimes all it takes is a brief encounter, the right words at the right moment, or simply the way they treat others. We often remember these people much longer than we remember public figures.
Yet we rarely read about them in the news. They do not receive public awards and often do not even realise the impact they have on those around them.
Today, a person’s social value is often measured by popularity, visibility, and reach on social media. Followers, views, and likes are counted. But there are people whose impact cannot be measured in numbers.
Those are the people trenČIN is looking for.
SMALL ACTS. BIG IMPACT.
These are not grand gestures or extraordinary achievements. They are small, everyday acts through which people positively influence those around them, bring others together, and contribute to a better atmosphere in society.
These are the everyday actions that make life just a little better for the people around them.
The project gradually creates a unique portrait of Trenčín—not through its history, architecture, or famous personalities, but through the people who shape its everyday life and the true spirit of the city. It reveals what residents value in one another and what kinds of behaviour they believe deserve recognition.
THE PATH TO THE CASTLE
The symbolic heart of the project is Trenčín Castle—a place that has, for centuries, been associated with power, prestige, and prominent figures. trenČIN turns this tradition on its head. This time, the castle will honour those whose influence on the lives of others is far greater than their public visibility suggests.
HOW CAN YOU APPLY?
You can’t.
trenČIN is based on nominations. You can only receive the award if someone who has already been recognised notices your actions and chooses to nominate you.
The project is intended for individuals or pairs. It is not designed to recognise family members or to promote businesses, organisations, or commercial activities.
The project runs from May to November 2026.
