Short-term mobility programme for professionals in the cultural and creative sectors

Kultúrne obzory is a new educational and mobility programme within the RUNWAY platform – the capacity-building programme of Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture.

Its goal is to motivate and support professionals in the cultural and creative sectors to take part in short-term international trips for learning, inspiration, building new connections, and strengthening international cooperation.

Who can apply:

• Individuals over 18 with Slovak citizenship

• People active in the cultural and creative industries (CCI), including the public sector

• Employees of cultural institutions, independent artists and creators, cultural managers, curators, designers, as well as professionals working in galleries, heritage sites, festivals, etc.

What the programme offers:

• Financial grants to support short-term mobility (400 / 800 / 1500 EUR)

• Coverage of costs such as travel, accommodation, registration fees, and educational activities

• Opportunities to explore new approaches, personal development, and inspiration for local projects

Programme objectives:

• Education and skills development – informal learning, workshops, conferences, job shadowing

• International exchange and networking – building new connections and collaboration opportunities

• Inspiration and exploration of new cultural contexts – broadening perspectives for future work in Slovakia

Supported activities:

• Participation in international conferences, workshops, mentoring, and job shadowing with a partner

• Mobility trips to EU countries, EEA countries, Switzerland, the UK, and Ukraine

Selection process:

• Online application including a description of goals and mobility plan

• Evaluation by an independent committee (Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture + Shifters)

• Grant paid after completion of the mobility and submission of required documents
