A short-term mobility program for professionals in the cultural and creative sectors
Cultural Horizons is a new educational and mobility program within the RUNWAY platform – the capacity-building program of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026.
The aim of the program is to motivate and support professionals working in the cultural and creative sectors to take part in short-term international mobility trips for the purposes of education, inspiration, building new contacts, and strengthening international cooperation.
Who can apply:

Individuals over 18 years of age with Slovak citizenship

People active in the cultural and creative industries (CCI), including the public sector

Employees of cultural institutions, independent artists and creators, cultural managers, curators, designers, and professionals working in galleries, heritage sites, festivals, and related fields
What the program offers:

Financial grants to support short-term mobility (400 / 800 / 1,500 EUR)

Coverage of costs such as travel, accommodation, registration fees, and educational activities

Space for discovering new approaches, personal development, and inspiration for projects back home
Program objectives:

Education and skills development – non-formal learning, workshops, conferences, job shadowing

International exchange and networking – creating new contacts and opportunities for cooperation

Inspiration and exploration of new cultural contexts – broadening perspectives for further work in Slovakia
Supported activities:

Participation in international conferences, workshops, mentoring, and job shadowing with a host organization

Mobility to EU and EEA countries, Switzerland, the UK, and Ukraine
Selection process:

Online application including a description of mobility goals and plan

Motivational interview
-
Evaluation by an independent selection committee (ECoC Trenčín 2026 + Shifters)

Grant paid after completion of the mobility and submission of required documentation
