What would Trenčín look like if its streets belonged to people, not cars?
The event Korzo Soblahovská, taking place on Saturday, May 24, 2025, will offer an answer. For one day, this well-known artery of the city will be transformed into a vibrant hub of community life, creativity, and fun.
From 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Soblahovská Street will become a stage full of music, aromas, and smiles. Local markets, artisanal crafts, designer pieces, children’s workshops, musical and theatrical performances, and a gastronomic zone filled with regional flavors — all this and more awaits everyone who chooses a stroll through a reimagined city over their usual Saturday shopping.
“Soblahovská has the potential to be the heart of neighborhood comfort,” says Hana Laššová, project manager. “It’s a street that literally connects people. Its proximity to the Dlhé Hony and Juh housing estates, the market, and community centers makes it an ideal place to imagine a city that puts people — not metal — first.”
Korzo Soblahovská follows the success of Korzo Palackého, which last year showed how much interest Trenčín’s residents have in new perspectives on their city. Once again, it’s an open invitation — to enjoy a street concert, buy a local product, have something tasty, and most of all, meet your neighbors.
The event is part of the flagship project “City Reimagined” within the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026. It is organized by the Trenčín 2026 team in collaboration with the Trenčín na korze initiative, which believes that streets don’t have to be just for passing through — they can be places for meeting, relaxing, and creating.
Getting there? Easy! The street will be closed to traffic from Friday, May 23, at 7:00 PM until midnight on Saturday. Organizers recommend leaving the car at home and coming on foot, by bike, or scooter.
