Creative Wellbeing will start in Spa Nimnica on July 5

The project of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 brings non-traditional forms of relaxation and the connection of culture with nature. On 5 and 6 July 2025, the first event of the Creative Wellbeing series – a unique experience of sound therapy and green stretching led by Polish multi-genre artist Ewa Zurakowska – will take place in the Nimnica Spa. The activities are also open to the public.

“The series of events focuses on creative ways to spend time in nature, meditation, mindfulness and other techniques for deep relaxation. Through these experiential activities, the project restores the traditional spa environment and opens new possibilities for visitors looking for original approaches to relaxation,” said Veronika Juricová, project manager of Trenčín 2026.

The healing power of voice, trees and space

The programme includes two main activities: sound baths directly in the pool, complemented by relaxation in the relaxation room and an exercise called “green stretching” – a series of movement and breathing techniques in the natural environment of the spa. All parts are united by an emphasis on conscious work with the body, voice and environment.

Sound baths

In this activity, artist Ewa Zurakowska personally guides the participants in the water, where they try out simple vocal exercises, singing vowels and archaic songs based on Slavic tradition. The result will be a joint concert in the water – an experience that will deepen the perception of one’s own voice and the connection with the group.

This activity is directly followed by sound relaxation in the listening room, which brings a space for peace, listening and mutuality. Some participants gently sing or make sounds while others relax – seeing music as a healing gift. Read more: https://www.trencin2026.eu/en/podujatie/voice-water-and-peace-sound-baths/

Green stretching

The exercise takes place outside the main building of the spa. Each participant finds “their tree”, which becomes a support for movements targeting the spine, neck and joints. Stretching in the fresh air overlooking the river and mountains not only strengthens the body but also brings peace of mind. Read more: https://www.trencin2026.eu/en/podujatie/green-stretching/
