Kristen Zupancic (1991, Canada) is a creative placemaking specialist focused on designing shared spaces that foster human connection and community wellbeing, blending tactical urbanism with “plot-twist” thinking. Her practice is always collaborative, involving (future) users of the space in the research, concept and design phases to strengthen a sense of belonging and stewardship for every place-led project.

Following eight years in Amsterdam, she is bringing her expertise back to Toronto in Spring 2026, contributing to urban strategies and place narratives in the city.

During her residency in Trenčín,  in cooperation with the city of Trenčín, she created a very nice placemaking project at Veľkomoravská Elementary School, where she and the students actively worked together to transform their school garden.
