Where? Start in the courtyard of the County House (Župný dom), Trenčín
The bike ride is part of the Green Line project, which brings works by international and Slovak artists addressing environmental issues – the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, and the relationship between humans and nature – into Trenčín’s public spaces. The project is curated by Oto Hudec.
The Green Line Bike Ride will take place on 13 September 2026 as an accompanying event following the opening of the Thin Green Line exhibition. The route will connect new artworks in public spaces across the city, giving participants the opportunity to discover them all in a single day. The group will stop at each artwork, where curator Oto Hudec and the artists present will explain its meaning and context.
The bike ride, however, is more than just a tour. Individual stops will come alive with dance performances by Priestor súčasného tanca (PST – Contemporary Dance Space) and small happenings, while the entire route will be accompanied by the powerful bicycle sound system of Bratislava’s Cyklokuchyňa (Bike Kitchen). The ride will be led by Tomáš Peciar, one of Slovakia’s most experienced organisers of group bike rides. The event will culminate in a concert by Erik Sikora at [Bunch/Lookee – ADD exact venue name and address].
The bike ride is organised in cooperation with Cyklokuchyňa and Cyklokoalícia. The event is suitable for both children and adults, with a relaxed pace adapted to families with children.

Programme and Stops
3:00 PM | Courtyard of the County House (Župný dom) – meeting point and start
The bike ride will begin in the courtyard of the County House, where we will introduce visitors to a mural by the Comunite Fresca collective, painted using the traditional fresco technique.
Stop 1 | Tamás Kaszás (HU): Beehive
Green space near the intersection of Palackého and Hasičská streets, close to KC Hviezda. A Bauhaus-inspired apiary by the Hungarian artist, standing on a traffic island between roads.
Stop 2 | Rigo 23 (US/PT): The River Is Sacred for Its Own Sake
A large-scale mural by the American-Portuguese artist near the Low-Threshold Centre, telling a story about the intrinsic value of the river.
Stop 3 | Anca Benera & Arnold Estefán (RO/AT): Who Owns the Weather?
The Váh riverfront. An object resembling a weather station that explores the question of who owns the weather.
Stop 4 | Oliver Ressler (AT): Out of the Underpass to Take Back the Sky
Underpass beneath Hasičská Street. A work by the Austrian artist reflecting on the position of pedestrians and cyclists in urban space.
Stop 5 | Martin Piaček (SK): Two Fig Trees
M. R. Štefánik Park near the railway station. Two travertine fig trees.
Finale | Erik Sikora Concert
Bunky at Lookee. The bike ride concludes with a concert by Erik Sikora, aka Džumelec.
Who Will Accompany You
Cyklokuchyňa
A community-run, self-help bicycle workshop where bikes, food and culture are all “cooked up”. Operating since 2011, it is the oldest and most active workshop of its kind in Slovakia. You can support Cyklokuchyňa at cyklokuchyna.criticalmass.sk/podpor-cyklokuchynu.
Bicycle Sound System
The route will be accompanied by live music from a powerful bicycle sound system built and operated by Bike Kitchen Bratislava. Purely positive travelling, with several sound configurations depending on possibilities and needs.
Tomáš Peciar
A long-time activist and advocate of everyday cycling as a means of transport. He began organising group bike rides in 2010 and has since led hundreds of them, with thousands of participants across Slovakia. He later co-founded Cyklokoalícia. As an activist, he has been involved in European Mobility Week, clean-air campaigns, artistic bicycle racks and community white-bike sharing. A DIY enthusiast, he founded Bike Kitchen – Cyklokuchyňa in Bratislava and also worked as the City of Bratislava’s cycling coordinator. In recent years, he has focused on promoting cycling among children – in 2023, he initiated the first Kidical Mass, which now takes place in seven Slovak cities.

Site-specific performance: When Art Comes Alive Through Movement
This dance and movement performance in public space brings together contemporary dance, visual art and the city’s ecological dimension. Choreographer Kat Rampáčková and dancer Michaela Sabolová from the PST – Priestor Súčasného Tanca platform set out by bicycle along Trenčín’s Green Line route.
Through six stops, they enter into a living dialogue with six works of art. With their bodies, the dancers set static objects in motion, while at the same time allowing themselves to be guided by the artworks’ forms, materiality and energy. The bicycle becomes not only a means of transport but also a fluid link between the individual stops. The performance is an invitation to perceive the city, art and movement in open space in a new way.
Erik Sikora
Visual artist, video artist, performer and singer-songwriter (*1986, Košice), also known by the pseudonym Džumelec. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and completed his doctorate in his native Košice, where he continues to teach. His work employs DIY approaches, video and spoken word, while his performances move between concerts, lectures and stand-up – on the boundary between nonsense and poetic symbolism. In 2019, he received the Oskár Čepan Award. He has previously collaborated with Green Line curator Oto Hudec on a joint exhibition. His songs strike just the right note with both children and adults.
