The bike ride will take place on 13 September 2026 in Trenčín as a companion event following the opening of the exhibition The Thin Green Line, part of Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture. The route will connect new artworks in public space located across the city, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience them all in a single day.
The ride will start in the courtyard of the County House, where cyclists will be introduced to a mural by the collective Comunite Fresca, created using the traditional fresco technique. Further stops will include the travertine figures by Martin Piaček in the park near the railway station, and a work by Austrian artist Oliver Ressler in the underpass beneath Hasičská Street, reflecting on the position of pedestrians and cyclists in urban space.
Participants will also stop at a Bauhaus-inspired apiary by Hungarian artist Tamás Kaszás, located on a traffic island near KC Hviezda, and at an installation resembling a meteorological station by Romanian duo Anca Benera and Arnold Estefan, exploring questions of weather ownership. The route will also pass by a large-scale mural by American-Portuguese artist Rigo 23, addressing the value of the river.
At each location, the group will stop — curator Oto Hudec and the artists will introduce and explain the works, complemented by small happenings along the way.
The bike ride is organised in collaboration with the Cycling Coalition (Cyklokoalícia), and participants will be accompanied by live music played through a bicycle-powered audio system.
The event is open to both children and adults. Upon arrival at the final destination, the programme continues at KC Hviezda with lectures and discussions on climate change, activism, and current environmental challenges, concluding with a concert by Erik Sikora.
