Folk Songs and Words of Our Classics Come Alive in Medieval Castles
Folk songs and the words of our literary classics will come alive in medieval castles, performed by well-known actors Andrea Karnasová and Martin Geišberg. Come and experience the fusion of music and stories that will take you back in time.
We invite you to a music-and-literature event series offering a unique experience where folk songs arranged for choir intertwine with texts by Jozef Ignác Bajza, Juraj Fándly, Hugolín Gavlovič, and Ľudovít Štúr. Together, they create an unexpected yet powerful connection—between the cultural heritage of the region and the emotional power of live performance. Castles that once guarded the land now open their gates to art that strengthens our memory, identity, and curiosity.

- Sunday, 12 October 2025, 15:00 – Nové Mesto nad Váhom – granary
Each of these locations will briefly become a living stage where the past meets the present in song and word.

Admission:
Entry to the event is free; only the standard castle admission fee applies, according to each site’s rules. Ticket prices can be found on the websites of the individual castles.
Creative workshops will also be available for children.
Castle Chapters is an activity of the Trenčín Literary Festival, which is part of Trenčín 2026. Trenčín 2026 is financially supported by the City of Trenčín, the Trenčín Self-Governing Region, and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The European Union is a partner of the project.
