In September and October, we invite you to a unique series of events – Castle Chapters, where singing meets literature in extraordinary places – directly at castles. As part of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026, the project brings an inspiring combination of folk songs arranged for choir and texts by Slovak authors such as Jozef Ignác Bajza, Juraj Fándly, Hugolín Gavlovič, and Ľudovít Štúr.

What happens when folk songs intertwine with the words that shaped our history? On the open-air stage, actress Andrea Karnasová and musician and performer Martin Geišberg will bring historic texts to life, accompanied by the Dezider K Mixed Choir under the direction of conductor Simoneta Adamková. Together, they will revive songs that are part of our cultural heritage.

Castles that once defended the land now create space for unforgettable experiences. Come and see how culture connects the past with the present, and how both famous and lesser-known stories come closer to us.
