What can a hideaway be? A cocoon, a nest, a climbing structure, a bunker, a niche, or a place for a brief escape from everyday life.
The exhibition presents student proposals for interventions in school environments, developed through a collaboration between the Body and Space Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU), Fabrika umenia, and three schools in the Trenčín Region.
The individual projects explore a wide range of possibilities, from small gestures to more complex spatial solutions inspired by the cocoon as both a protective shell and a place of dynamic transformation. Variations become a tool for exploring the relationship between solid structure and soft covering, intimacy and openness, stability and instability. The series of proposals presents architecture as a process of searching for and testing possibilities and qualities.
