Flower Festival I.

Flower Festival is a community event taking place at Lumó on Štúr Square, bringing together flowers, art, sustainability, public space, and human connections.

Here, flowers are more than decoration. We will explore them as part of everyday life – as an aesthetic element, a fashion accessory, an ingredient in refreshments, and a natural way to support biodiversity and urban life.

The event will also introduce the local sustainable flower farm Černuška and open a conversation about growing flowers not only on farms, but also in cities and local communities. We want to show that sustainability does not have to be a difficult topic – it can be beautiful, enjoyable, and full of fragrance.

The programme also includes the presentation of the street gallery at Lumó, featuring a flower bed created by Černuška. The exhibition highlights community care for public greenery, front gardens, and neighbourhood spaces that are often lovingly maintained by local residents over many years.

Programme

  1. A fashion performance featuring floral adornments accompanied by live guitar music
  2. Opening of an exhibition exploring community care for public spaces
  3. A talk about flower growing at the sustainable flower farm Černuška
  4. A creative workshop for little and big flower fairies, where participants will make floral wreaths and explore flowers as a natural creative material
  5. Refreshments featuring edible flowers and floral lemonades
  6. A concert by Michal Berec to close the celebration

The aim of the event is to create a welcoming community space where art, nature, and people come together, while encouraging a more thoughtful relationship with public spaces and the flowers that enrich them.
