What is the Community Leadership Programme about?

The Community Leaders (CL) programme is part of building a participatory community ecosystem within Trenčín 2026. It connects active citizens with the city’s cultural programme – so that audiences become active co-creators. Community leaders identify community needs, connect them with artistic initiatives, and help bring citizens’ voices directly into the European Capital of Culture programme.

What does a Community Leader do?

1. Connects people in their community through culture, art, neighbourhood, and civic initiatives.

2. Maps community needs and communicates them in the planning of cultural events and activities within Trenčín 2026.

3. Participates in organising and implementing local meetings, festivals, and participatory projects, and maintains contact between the community and the Trenčín 2026 programme.

Who are we looking for?

1. People of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences who know their neighbourhood or community.

2. Those who want to contribute to change in the city through dialogue, curiosity, and collaboration.

3. You don’t need to be an expert – motivation, openness, and willingness to get involved are enough.

How to get involved?

1. Fill out the application form.

2. The first introductory meeting for community leadership will take place on 12 November 2025 at KKC Hviezda.

3. Trainings, workshops, and community leadership meetings will take place from December 2025 throughout 2026. The programme continues into 2026 and is linked to various Trenčín 2026 activities.
