Terms such as climate injustice, climate grief, and climate catastrophe have entered our language and are gradually permeating the everyday lives of contemporary generations. They emerged from observing the impact of our civilisation on the planet — and the ways these changes affect us in return.
At úúú: ENVIRONMENT I, we will explore climate grief, the ability to connect with more-than-human worlds, and sensitivity to the environment through installations, performances, and concerts by Aleksandra Gudkova, a cosmopolitan artist working across multiple international scenes beyond Slovakia. Her collection of natural sounds is transformed through electronics and experimental processing into a distorted vision of what the nature of the future might sound like.
Together with German sound artist Till Bovermann, we will move into the increasingly immersive digital and technological environments surrounding us. In his work, Bovermann investigates the sounds of infrastructures — systems that support everyday life but usually become noticeable only when they fail.
But our journey will also inevitably pass through the environment that shapes all these artistic interventions — the city of Trenčín itself. From Zátoka pokoja, we will walk to the For maat Gallery, exploring the urban environment as a battleground of plans, visions, and architectural concepts that — perhaps fortunately, perhaps unfortunately — were never realised.
úúú: ENVIRONMENT I is an invitation to listen more attentively to the world — and perhaps find new ways of orienting ourselves within it.

Infrastructure is designed to remain invisible — we notice it only when it fails. Yet these hidden systems that enable our everyday lives possess rich sonic identities. Till Bovermann’s performance Sounding Infrastructures – Trenčín brings to the foreground what is usually meant to remain unnoticed: the hum of turbines, the resonance of concrete structures, the vibrations of energy transformation. Through field recordings from urban infrastructure, the work creates an immersive sonic environment in which the acoustic signatures of infrastructure become a bodily experience, revealing the material presence of systems we depend on but rarely perceive.
Till Bovermann aka LFSaw (1979) is a Berlin-based sound artist and researcher exploring the inherently complex relationships that shape the world. His primary artistic material is field recordings, which he combines with live coding and interactive sound programming to create immersive soundscapes that encourage inner reflection.
He is Professor of Sound Art at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, where he teaches sound art, creative coding, and artistic research. He is also co-founder of plonk and a member of the artistic collectives friendly.organisms and wait and hear.
Alongside his artistic and academic work, he develops software using the SuperCollider, Python, and Faust programming languages and environments.

The city that could have been. Can you imagine the Slovak Grand Prix on an F1 circuit in Záblatie? Or an Aupark shopping centre opposite the Jewish synagogue? There are dozens of such more-or-less realistic plans, most of which have already disappeared from public attention.
The city of Trenčín contains numerous architectural and urban planning proposals that emerged in response to the social, economic, or ideological needs of their time, yet were never realised.
Architects Alexander Topilin, Martin Jurkovič, and Martin Jurikovič will guide us through the city from the location of the first úúú concert to the second one, sharing stories about projects that never reached the construction phase, as well as insights into the current exhibition Unrealised Trenčín – The City That Could Have Been.

Synthetic sounds of nature become a distorted vision of what the nature of the future might sound like. A state of disconnected daydreaming grows so deep that it transforms into a peaceful nightmare.
Aleksandra Gudkova is a composer and sound artist based in Austria. She has performed at festivals such as Orfeus, Kraa, VNS, and Archa+. Her current artistic direction is shaped by an interest in modern technologies, the intersection of science and art, and work with physical objects.
