Trenčín dolinečka – Pilot Work of the Ozveny Project

On Friday and Saturday, October 31 – November 1, 2025, Trenčín will come alive with a unique audiovisual experience. On the banks of the Váh River, around the boathouse and the old railway bridge, artist Boris Vitázek will present his new work Trenčín dolinečka, which will open the new project series titled Ozveny (Echoes).

What will you experience?

The work is based on the interpretation of the folk song “Trenčín dolinečka,” traditionally sung with joy and lightness. In this rendition, however, it takes on a subtly melancholic tone — a poetic reflection on contemporary society and its relationship to love, intimacy, and mutual understanding.

Using laser projectors and spatial sound, Boris Vitázek will create a minimalist projection working with floral motifs that will gradually dissolve and fall away from the façade of the boathouse.

The piece is designed to be perceived from multiple vantage points — whether from the road bridge or directly beneath the boathouse, where the atmosphere will be even more immersive.

About the artist

Boris Vitázek is a Slovak artist who has long been engaged in new media, sound, and light art. His projects create audiovisual environments that explore the boundaries between technology, aesthetics, and human perception.

He is interested in how image and sound shape our experience of space and emotion, and in their ability to mediate a quiet dialogue between art and the viewer.

In addition to his audiovisual work, he is also active in theatre and performance art, where he focuses on visual language and the development of performers’ sensitivity to the sound and light elements of a scene.
