Project Echoes is a series of audio-visual works that explore the historical, social, and architectural context of selected sites in the city. The works will reflect the past and present, while connecting digital art with themes relevant to the inhabitants of the Trenčín region.
The project is carried out in two phases. The first phase in 2025 includes the creation of a pilot mapping that will present the methodology and visual language of the entire project. At the same time, an international open call will be prepared and announced for foreign artists, who will create their works during the second phase. The open call will be promoted through festivals, art studios, and digital platforms, with the aim of reaching visual artists experienced in audio-visual art. An important part of this phase is also site research, conducted in cooperation with experts in architecture and urbanism, with an emphasis on locations marked by a strong historical footprint or significant urban transformations.
In the second phase, in 2026, three artists will be selected from the open call. Over the course of the year, they will create three installations at the chosen sites. Each work will be based on historical and architectural sources and will reflect the spatial development of the city.
