26–31 August 2025 • 18:00 • Lodenica Trenčín • 30 minutes
Only 6 spots per day.
Finnish artist Pia Lindman invites you to an intimate Singing for the River workshop, where you don’t need any prior experience – only the desire to experiment, play, and discover new sounds of your voice.
We will meet at the Acoustic Sculpture, through which we can transmit sound directly to the bottom of the river. We will learn to perceive vibrations created by our own sounds – in our bodies, in the sculpture, and in other bodies such as the mud and microorganisms in the river. By making sounds, we will train our ability to tune into mutual relationships, to become part of a resonating world – until we set the microbes in the river dancing.
The workshop is conducted in English (with interpretation).
What is manaus?
Manaus is a Finnish word for the act of speaking or singing a spell that concentrates the forces of the world to bring about change. In this workshop, you will learn how to “sing a manaus” for the river Váh.
Who is the workshop for?
For everyone – regardless of age, experience, or courage.
How to sign up?
Simply fill out a short registration form and reserve your spot.
Since the number of participants is limited to 6 people per day, we recommend signing up as soon as possible.
Experience an evening by the river, when Trenčín falls silent for a moment and the water becomes your listener.
