Imagine that instead of cars, the street greets you with music, greenery, and conversations. This is the atmosphere that the Palackého Live Festival will bring on Friday, August 22nd, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Part of Palackého Street will be transformed into a pedestrian zone full of life and inspiration.

For one evening, the noise of cars will disappear, and the street will open up to people. Sidewalks and parking spaces will be replaced by concerts, outdoor cinema, discussions, and spaces for relaxation. The festival will show that even spaces that today serve mainly for parking and transit can be peaceful, welcoming, and open to encounters.

A Small Event, A Big Idea

Palackého Live builds on the success of Korzo Palackého, but this time, it focuses on the northern part of the street. It is another step in the effort to transform Palackého into a place for people, not cars – and thus become part of the quality urban life we desire.

“We want people to experience Palackého Street differently – as a place for rest, meetings, and creativity. We believe this event will inspire permanent changes,” says Stanislav Krajči, director of the Trenčín 2026 team.

Green Parklet and Artistic Intervention

The event will feature a parklet – an art-architectural intervention with seating and greenery. This symbolic intervention shows what the future of a street prioritizing people could look like.

The event will also showcase the outcome of Place Camp – the Summer School of Place-Making. Young people, under expert guidance, will design and implement an intervention directly on the street. The result? A small work with a big message – that we can also change public spaces together and creatively.

Music, Film, and Summer Energy

Starting at 7:00 PM, the street will come alive with a concert by the band The Youniverse, blending blues, rock, and modern groove. Singer Tammy Nižňanská, guitarist Jerguš Oravec, and drummer Adam Olexík will enliven the event as part of the KONCERTY LETA series.

The evening will end with a screening of the film Waves (2024) at the outdoor cinema. The film by Jiří Mádl, which gained attention as the Czech Oscar contender, will take us to the period of the Prague Spring and the invasion of Warsaw Pact troops – with a song by Ewa Farna that will stay in your memory for a long time.

Something for Everyone

In addition to the concert and the movie, visitors can enjoy a discussion, creative workshops, a dance workshop, non-alcoholic tastings, and games for both children and adults. In short – Palackého Live is an evening you must experience.

A Street for People, Not for Cars

During the event, the section from the parking garage to Coop Jednota will be closed. However, the parking garage will remain accessible. The complete program can be found at:
