We are currently conducting an evaluation of the temporary placemaking intervention “Neighbourhood Table”, located near the Lávka café and the children’s playground on 28. októbra Street.
The aim of the evaluation is to understand how the “Neighbourhood Table” installation influences everyday life in the area, how it changes the use of public space, and whether it contributes to strengthening neighbourly relations and community life.
How does the evaluation work in practice?
Volunteers from the DATA26 research team carry out regular weekly observations, during which they monitor who uses the Neighbourhood Table and surrounding spaces, how, and when. These observations are accompanied by brief, several-minute-long conversations with visitors at the table, people sitting in front of the café, and parents at the playground.
The interviews are voluntary, anonymous, and serve research purposes only. Their aim is to capture authentic experiences of people in this part of Trenčín.
All collected data is processed anonymously and evaluated in accordance with the ethics of social sciences.
The results of this evaluation will serve as a basis for future planning and implementation of similar community interventions in the city of Trenčín, as part of the Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture programme.
