Mierové Square in Trenčín is set to host a unique performance titled Flotados, a spectacle that blends musical virtuosity with aerial acrobatics. On May 8, 2026, David Moreno and Cristina Calleja will present a breathtaking open-air show featuring a vertically suspended piano as its centerpiece. The event is part of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 program.
Flotados is far more than a conventional concert; it is an immersive visual experience belonging to the “nouveau cirque” (new circus) genre. Audiences can look forward to a poetic composition where a piano virtuoso meets a ballerina at a height of nine meters. The entire performance is intertwined with dynamic projections and light design, set to transform the historic center of Trenčín into a dreamlike landscape.

“Our goal is to bring art into public spaces that momentarily pulls people out of their daily reality and offers a new perspective on what is possible. Flotados is exactly that kind of project—a fragile yet technically demanding fusion of music and movement that leaves a profound emotional impact on the viewer,” says Veronika Chrienová, one of the event organizers.
he evening atmosphere of this outdoor performance further enhances its poetic and emotional power. Every movement, note, and projection layer is precisely timed to create a harmonious whole. The organizers promise a show that demonstrates how modern circus can be dramatic, tender, and grand all at once.
The performance will take place on Wednesday, May 8, 2026, at 9:00 PM at Mierové Square in Trenčín. Admission to the event is free for the general public.
