Anna Ulahelová is a graphic designer originally from the Czech Republic, currently based between Prague and Bratislava. Her practice focuses on UX design, research, data visualization, information design, and design theory. She is particularly interested in how complex data, spaces, and technologies can be transformed into experiences that foster understanding, connection, and active engagement. Working across disciplines, she collaborates with researchers, developers, domain experts, and the public to find meaningful ways of making complex topics accessible through interaction. She is especially interested in the city as a living ecosystem of relationships, stories, and data, and in how maps, spatial data, and information systems can help people better understand and navigate the places they live in. Anna holds a PhD from the Department of Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (2015–2019), where, under the supervision of Marcel Benčík and Stanislav Stankoci, she researched the content and broader contexts of graphic design in Slovakia after 1989.
Anna will be spending her October residency with us.
