Carla Rebelo is a Portuguese artist based in Lisbon. She holds a degree in Sculpture and also studied textiles, scenography, and drawing, fields that shape her multidisciplinary artistic language, expressed primarily through installations, sculpture, and artist books.
Her practice explores the relationships between memory, time, and place, developing concept and site-specific projects grounded in historical and on-site research. Understanding place as a social and historical construct, her work connects the layered memory of each site with contemporary concerns through materials and a poetic, metaphorical language.
Her most recent projects focus on industrial textiles, investigating their material qualities, historical contexts, and symbolic potential as traces of labor, production, and transformation.
