The beauty of the reconstructed interior of the synagogue in Trenčín hints at how significant the Jewish community once was in this city. The exhibition dedicated to the Jewish cultural heritage in the central Váh region, located inside the synagogue, tells the story of how this community lived. Here you can learn, for example, about the stories of the Five Trenčín Liquor Distilleries, which were owned by prominent Jewish families.
The stories of Jewish families are also retold each year during the June Festival of Jewish Culture, organized in the neighboring town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom, which was home to the second-largest Jewish community in the Kingdom of Hungary.
