Community Picnics in Alúvium are regular biweekly gatherings that bring together architecture, nature, and people of all generations. Visitors can enjoy picnics accompanied by creative workshops, movement and relaxation activities, discussions, and concerts. The programme is built around four themed days – Material Day, Movement Day, Nature Day, and Slow Day – each bringing new experiences throughout the summer. The events are free and open to everyone, creating opportunities for families, seniors, young people, and professionals alike to discover Alúvium as a vibrant public space where architecture and community life come together.

From 3 September, the Unio Tectum and Unio Stibadum pavilions in Alúvium will temporarily host interactive works by British artist Mahalia Henry-Richards titled Remote Echoes and Echoes Expanded.
Remote Echoes is a site-specific interactive installation connecting the neighbouring Unio Tectum and Unio Stibadum pavilions through a continuous dialogue of light and sound. A slow, synchronised pulse of light links the two structures, expressing a shared sense of presence. As visitors approach, the pulse is disrupted, revealing their influence through flashes of light and changes in rhythm. Each pavilion also “listens” to its surroundings, capturing short fragments of sound whenever activity occurs. These recordings gradually form an evolving soundscape – a spatial memory that shifts and transforms over time. (3–27 September 2026 – installation open daily from 18:00 to 21:00)
Echoes Expanded is a live performance that transforms the subtle dialogue of the Remote Echoes installation into an immersive audiovisual experience. Remote live-coding artists take control of the system in real time, using algorithmic music to animate both pavilions with light and sound. The installation’s quiet shared pulse expands into a vivid live event, amplifying themes of presence, communication, and connection across distance. (3–4 September at 18:00)
