Remote Echoes is a site-specific interactive installation by British artist Mahalia Henry-Richards, connecting the two nearby pavilions, Unio Tectum and Unio Stibadum through a continuous dialogue of light and sound. A slow, synchronised light pulse links both structures and expresses a shared sense of presence. When visitors approach, the pulse is disrupted, revealing their influence through flashes and changes in rhythm. Each pavilion also “listens” to its surroundings, capturing short sound fragments when activity occurs. These recordings create a slowly evolving soundscape – a spatial memory that shifts and transforms over time.

The project Úniky v priestore / Public Escapades, created by the WOVEN studio, includes 4 pavilions that will be developed in pairs across two revitalised areas – Alúvium and Trenčiansky Luh. The pavilions are conceived as jewels of these public spaces. They loosely approach the function of urban furniture, but this function is neither clearly defined nor limited. The emphasis is placed on the contrast between the natural and the manipulated, with the material – highly polished stainless steel – conceptually chosen in the project as a result of this contrast. The design language of the pavilions is based on the organic shape of the freshwater mussel found in this environment, lat. Unio crassus.
