Elements: Modernism Revisited is the accompanying exhibition to the international conference Modernism Revisited and one of the key outcomes of the Moderna 2.0 project. Through three iconic architectural elements from the Machnáč Health Resort – the Kraus system window, the steel balcony railing, and the brass interior handrail – it explores the principles behind one of the most significant works of European Functionalism. The exhibition demonstrates that the restoration of modern architecture begins not with the reconstruction of the building itself, but with an understanding of its details, technologies, and craftsmanship. At the same time, it reminds us that saving the remarkable architectural landmark of Machnáč in Trenčianske Teplice is no longer a question of technical feasibility, but of collective will.
