Screening & Discussion on the Environmental and Social Impacts of the Fashion Industry
Join us in Trenčín!
Spend an evening with us as fashion reveals itself in a different light — one that highlights the realities we too often overlook.
Together, we’ll watch a selection of short documentaries and videos that uncover the hidden face of the fashion industry: its ecological footprint, social consequences, and the innovative approaches driving change.
The curated program covers a wide range of perspectives — from the environmental toll of fast fashion and overproduction (such as the Atacama Desert overwhelmed by textile waste) to inspiring examples of circular solutions: secondhand platforms, upcycling, work with deadstock materials, and design approaches focused on transparency, craftsmanship, and respect for the planet.
Included are also inspiring stories of figures like Stella McCartney and young startups transforming the way we buy and wear clothes today.
After the screening, we’ll open a moderated discussion with guests from various areas of the fashion ecosystem, who will share their insights and experiences. The audience is invited to actively participate — to exchange views, ask questions, and explore possible solutions together.
Guests:
– Ivana Maleš, Co-founder of INCIEN (Institute for Circular Economy)
– Barbora Yurkovic, Stylist and Founder of Concept Story
– Valéria Frázová, DJ and advocate for sustainable fashion
