Summer Fashion Academy is a one-week summer daytime program for talented children and young people from primary and secondary art schools who want to explore fashion through creation, craftsmanship, and their own imagination. Under the guidance of a professional team from the fashion field, participants learn about the process of creating a collection, the various professions within the fashion world, and the values that fashion can carry.
LAM presents fashion as a space for creativity, collaboration, self-expression, and cultural thinking. It encourages children to see fashion not only as a final visual outcome, but also as a process shaped by ideas, work, craftsmanship, and responsibility.
What is the goal of the academy
The Summer Fashion Academy creates space for developing natural talent, creativity, and sensitivity to fashion as a cultural discipline. The academy fosters a healthy perspective on fashion while supporting children and young people in discovering their own expression and new connections between art, design, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
Why we collaborate with schools and art schools
Schools and primary art schools are important partners for the project. Teachers are the ones who can recognize talent, engage children in new topics, and support their involvement in interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of visual arts, design, fashion, and sustainability.
Collaboration can take many forms—from sharing information about the project, to presenting the academy to teachers and students, to recommending children for whom participation in the academy could be a natural next step.
How participants are selected
The selection process includes a creative assignment designed for children aged 8 to 18, which they complete with the support of a teacher. Based on the submitted works, sent through the school, 15 participants will be selected for the academy.
